Land Surface Temperature - MTGLand Surface Temperature (LST) refers to the radiative skin temperature over land.
It plays a key role in the physics of the land surface, as it is involved in the exchange
of energy and water with the atmosphere. Accurate LST values are particularly important
in a wide range of fields related to land surface processes, including meteorology,
hydrology, agrometeorology, climatology, and environmental studies. The MTLST is derived
from the new FCI sensor onboard MTG, and shows some differences compared to LSA SAF
MSG LST product (MLST), typically up to 1 K. These differences are due to variations
in algorithm calibration, with the most affected areas being deserts during daytime.
